    I knew my smoke alarms needed to be changed out since most were original from 2000 but kept putting it off.     I had a business acquaintance tell me he had a fire that took out part of his house. He said it originated in the dryer. I had Smoke Detector Pro update my smoke alarms and knew that they cleaned dryer vents. I thought I should do the safe thing so I called and they came out just when they said they would. I was surprised to see all the lint that came out of the vent. Apparently, just being diligent to clean the filter at the front of the dryer has not been adequate.
